But luckily we have a solution to help you with the career choice process, it's known as Holland's Codes assessment. The first step to finding the best job fit for you is to consider what you're good at (skills) and what you like to do (interests). Dr. John Holland developed the Holland’s Codes assessment to help people determine their occupational personality type. Holland theorized that people seek out work environments that mesh well with their interests, skills, attitudes and values known as their work personality. Career personalities can be grouped into six categories (most people will be a combination of three personality types):
Realistic
Investigative
Artistic
Social
Enterprising
Conventional
So no matter what stage of life you're in, whether your looking for your first job, moving up the career ladder, trying to hone your passion, or changing careers all together, take some time to evaluate your skills and interests without any distractions.
And remember what may of been good fit a couple years ago or even today, may change later in life and that's perfectly okay! As women; we learn, we grow, we adapt, we change, and so can our career aspirations! It's never too late to redirect or start anew. You owe it to yourself.
